Brexit and Double Taxation

referendum

I am putting out this brief post on double taxation within the EU due to the number of enquiries received on the subject.

To put everyone’s minds at rest, Brexit has no effect on bilateral tax treaties negotiated between individual countries because it is beyond the remit of EU law. Tax treaties agreed between any two countries is a matter for those countries’ tax departments.

If you are worried about any tax effects of Brexit, you may contact the national tax administration of your country of residence or of any country where you earn your income. The link to contact details for EU countries is HERE.

For now, the referendum is over, Theresa May is the new PM, it’s back to business.
